Growing up in Jakarta, her architect father taught her how to draw and paint as a child, when she created gestural drawings that still inform her design process today. Inspired by the experimental films of the 1960s, including the works of directors such as Stan Brakhage, her design language is defined by a sculptural exploration of colors, volume, fluidity, and movement. Since 2020, Karina has been dedicated to transforming deadstock and discarded materials into vibrant, tactile textiles. She embraces vibrant color palettes, layered transparency, and an innate sense of ease to create pieces that celebrate individuality. Her work sits at the intersection of reclaimed materials, artistry, and emotional resonance—garments that tell stories while empowering the wearer.
Her work has been featured in Time Out New York, Harper’s Bazaar Indonesia, Dew Magazine, Unfamous Magazine, and showcased at Helsinki Fashion Week. Karina is based in New York City.
